Close up magic is magic performed in an intimate setting usually no more than a few feet from one's audience. Close up magic combines sleight of hand and misdirection to achieve outcomes that defy common logic. 

One of the benefits to close up magic as an entertainment is that the spectator gets a chance to truly get involved with the act. They can experience the magic actually taking place right beneath their noses and in some cases within their own hands.
